Earth used to be a beautiful and bustling Planet with a somewhat functional society. Even with its issues, whether it was society based or planetary based, one would expect such issues to improve over time.
They were so wrong.
Nobody exactly knew what was happening, they only knew others were getting angrier and violent with the issues some of themselves caused, or issues that humanity themselves were making. As boycotts, riots, and protests started ramping up in numbers, certain governments collapsing on themselves, and conflicts between countries spiralling out of control from years of debate, society wasn’t getting better, it was destroying itself slowly.
Everyone wanted peace, but because of their unorthodox methods, it only made things worse.
On top of that, global warming was getting worse. Wildfires were starting to light multiple forests ablaze, with Russia, Canada, and the United states being hit the hardest, all of which have been on fire for years now, as all attempts to extinguish the fires have failed. To add even more salt to the wound, the Moon had started getting closer to Earth instead of farther. The tides got both higher, and also extremely lower, parts of the world started getting more earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, and the weather was getting more dangerous.
Life just couldn’t get any worse, huh?
